You know when the day could have been better. Come 5pm you've set fire to the office, crashed the company car or maybe fired the boss. But theres one thing as a Brit you can be sure of. Somthing to look forward to, calm the nerves and generally bring a little peace to the end of the day. Especially in tough times, with a recession looming and more and more people searching for work; we have always been able to seek solace in a quiet, relaxing pint.
As scary as it was to think we could have been joining the Europeans with their 'half-litres', thankfully an agreement to stick to the good old British measure has now been reached!
Personally, I like having a pint. Certainly, one of the recognisable things about Britain, is a pint of beer. Not a 'large' beer, or a 'half-litre', but a pint, or for the more moderate amongst us, a half pint. Served as they do across the channel, things just wouldn't feel right. Especially if I was also to have to abide by a 110 Kilometer-Per-Hour limit. Not after a pint though, of course.
I'm off to celebrate.
